Consolidated Laboratory CompanyA global company with a forward thinking approach to laboratory work spaces, they approached Flourish to undertake an extensive 6 month programme of space planning with the involvement of all department end users including Histology, Microbiology and Pathology and included high risk Category 3 labs.
The planning included the consideration of all scientific equipment placement and their weight loadings. It also meant the mock up installed at Flourish for the design period could be adjusted, then readjusted to show each area as it changed. This served to highlight the flexibility of the modular panelsystem, CoStruc by Herman Miller, which was chosen for the project. The largest project of its kind globally using the CoStruc system (930 sqm or 10,000 sq ft), it was not only a success, but is paving the way for change in scientific working solutions form the traditional 'fixed and built in' systems to more future proof and flexible working systems that accommodate fast changing process development. |
